The Pastor's Corner
"I'm not talking about an idea or a test, I'm telling you here is what works, and is completely from the Bible, but absolutely overlooked by most every Pastor I've ever met and I'll flat out prove it, hands down without controversy."
A pecial "thank you" if you are viewing this site for the first time as a result of a recent visit with you.
The Pastor's Corner is primarily used to communicate the importance of how this ministry can truly make a major positive difference in the life of individual congregations.
Let's first deal with a single basic concept, briefly concentrate that concept and discover how we all can make an extremely big difference.
The Christians basic responsibility is to seek and to save the lost. The fact that the individual Christian has been given the entire world to preach the gospel to is overwhelming. This generally creates an attitude of casually mentioning Christ to others or casually inviting others to church. This often result in most people coming to church very briefly, acknowledging Jesus as their Lord and for one of one million reasons deciding they can worship the Lord just as effectively without the church.
Christian research at www.barna.org reveals that Christians are straying from the church at an unprecedented rate and settling for options that place them in an un-churched status. As a Pastor you don't need to be convinced that you know their position is compromised at best -- fellowshipping outside the body of Christ places the Christian right where Satan want them, and whether they admit it or not they are at a serious spiritual disadvantage. Many of them believe the misconception that no matter how they live it is absolutely impossible to lose their souls salvation. They basically live the same life they did before becoming a Christian with the profession of the faith in Jesus as their only hope for eternal salvation. These are the kind of people that have ignored the fact that repentance as an essential part of the salvation process. I'm not ever going to sit around and argue with any one about or against the concept once saved always saved, don't let that be the point.
I'm saying, There is a very simple and practical way to reach these strays and help them receive the abundant life in Christ Jesus as the Lord intended for them, a simple way to energize the church and give people a fire of passion in their service to God that would ignite not only new life in the church as a whole but ultimately result in more souls being saved. I'm not talking about an idea or a test, I'm telling you here is what works, and is completely from the bible but absolutely overlooked by most every Pastor I've met and I'll flat out prove it, hands down with out controversy.
2010YR develops very simple ways for churched Christians to narrow and concentrate their efforts so radically that the impact to their relationship with Jesus and the relationship the un-church Christians would be multiplied many time over..........................Simply put, its ok to evangelize the whole world, but only after you have made a life’s commitment to a hand full of those that have already become Christians but need to see a life long commitment of care for their souls salvation.
Too many saint are saying by they're lack of commitment to the un-churched, that unless you eventually go to church with me regularly our relationship will be sporadic at best, and in most cases the relationship deteriorate too little more than casual acquaintances.
Here’s the proof Pastors, in love and with regard that I need your help to change................... You's
I simply ask Pastors all over America, "Have you personally made a life long commitment to 7-10 un-churched Christians, to pray for that 7-10 persons, to call them and talk to them and to merely be a spiritual friend without placing on them the expectation or requirement of church attendance, but allowing them to know you would like them to be regular attendees of church." the answer is usually, NO
Now don't start fighting me by coming up with one point nine million reasons not to do it, or surmising that it won't work without having tried it. Friend I'm not telling you what I think will work I'm telling you what I do and what I know in the absolute.
I'm telling you If you do this and get your members to do this It Will Work!!! more people will eventually come back to the Lords house and more will be drawn closer to Christ, period.
Pastor I'm strongly encouraging you to take the first step, even Jesus concentrated his efforts on twelve and even more so on three or four of that twelve. Don't see yourself committed to twelve of your church staff members as enough. If you want your members to make a life’s commitment to salvaging the strays you my friend are going to have to lead by example.
Its not hard. I drive a truck all over the country, its extremely hectic, I still have to find time for family and myself and building the ministry, but I pray everyday, verbally calling out about forty people about fifteen to twenty of which I personally call about once or twice a month. I don't expect anyone else to do that many, in fact I discourage it. Commit only to 7-10, that’s plenty enough, again I speak from what I know.
Finally, I'm praying every day for a corporate church that can realize the tremendous reach and scope of this ministry (Just imagine building momentum through public events nationwide for 2010YR partners and groups and culminating with one ten year smash events of praise to the Lord all year long.) and take this ministry and corporatize it , yea that’s right I want to hand it off to responsible and large hands. God has used me a humble truck driver to birth the vision into the world, its up to the church to take the ball and run with it. I'm just a truck driver, I'll take the ministry as far as the Lord allows me, but this kind of ministry needs a home congregation, and God given leaders to guide it..Jodie Graves
